24 hours later

I've said it before, but after a 24 hour hangover from Saturday night I will say it again. I will never drink again. Now I'm feeling better though and I could finally eat (and drink) something again without feeling sick in my stomach.

Which is good since I'll be rather busy this week; finishing all the homework and assignments that I will have to hand in before Cédric and my upcoming trip to Hong Kong this Thursday night. I am so excited! But yeah, first I have to focus on all my tasks. Update more tomorrow about the past weekend, I need to go back to my Singaporean drama - it's so good now! :p

Cousin's wedding

I just got back from a long coffee date with Veronica and found that my cousin Mindy had posted the cutest little video clip on my Facebook wall ever!  The other day my cousin Chen Peng got married (that's why my mum is in Malaysia now), and I was pretty bummed about not being there since I do love weddings, but now when I got this little clip of her and her now husband, I feel so much better.

It's very Chinese but still so cute. Check it out :)

The book to The Notebook

Last night Maria gave me the actual book to The Notebook to borrow from her and since I love the movie, reading the book can't go wrong I believe. Oh, exciting stuff! I think I will start it tonight :D

The weekend

Hello!

I was actually going to do a small update after my powerwalk on Staurday afternoon if it wouldn't have been for my boyfriend asking me if I wanted to join him and Victor (his friend) at this fashion & design art fair D.A.F.F on the Bund. I didn't take any pictures but it was a really cool place, evidently packed with foreigners wearing very fashionable (and some very weird ofc) outfits, and it really didn't seem like we were in Shanghai anymore. It felt like somewhere on the beach in Europe.

Anyways, after this I rushed back home to take a shower, pack my bed and get ready for going to my Australian friend Jess' birthday party. It was pretty fun and I met some nice people but after a while I took a cab to Yan'an Xi Lu where I met up with Cédric at Sophie's house for a French dinner party. When it finished, we all headed to Zapata's for a few drink before going back home to get some sleep. Me and Cédric stayed up till 6 AM, talking about everything between heaven and earth so we only got around 5 hours of sleep before we had to get up and go to People's Square for Cédric to vote (they have the president election in France now) and later to meet up with Sophie and her boyfriend Nico for some sun and homemade Sangria in People's Park.

I do have a picture of Saturday's outfit though ^^

Oh sunny day! :D

Since the weather has been great both yesterday and today, I'm in a never ending happy mood! The coffee date I had with Maria and Veronica on a terrass in the French Concession yesterday turned into a long walk along the vintage boutiques in the area, and later, a spontaneous Thursday outing with Veronica's friend, Jason.

I've only been out on a Thursday in Shanghai once and it was...not one of the best nights out so to say. However, I decided to give it another try (as the sun and warmth was there to support my option) and it was actually really good this time!

First we went to Glo London's Ladies Night where we got free Moijitos from 9-11 PM (they were not very good though since they were mass produced and therefore not done properly) and then we went to Shiva. A place I will never again go for ladies night. They serve you vodka with coke/sprite (no redbull :() and it tastes like someone is trying to spike you with nailpolish remover. Not pleasant at all. Anyhow after Shiva we went to the Apartment, which is next door and the party there was really good! Later we decided to take Maria to Model Night at M1NT since she's never been there but they were playing so bad and weird music that we eventually went home to get some rest instead.

Since I only had one morning class today (the afternoon one was cancelled! :D), I thought that I would find myself sleeping the whole afternoon, but no no. Instead I've just finished cleaning my entire room, changing sheets, doing all of my laundry, calling my mum, and now I'm about to start with the homework for Monday. I tell you, it's only the sunshine that can make me this efficient! :)

Everyone did it so ofc we also had to! :p

Interesting place...

Ok, so I did score pretty alright. 93% on Listening Ability and 79% on Intensive Reading and Grammar. Many people were tempting me to go out tonight but I'm still slightly tired from the past few days. And since I barely slept last night, I was pretty dead in class today as well. So just a lot of rest tonight and then I'll hopefully be fit for tomorrow's 8 AM class, and later, coffee date with Veronica and Maria.

Update more tomorrow. Bisous till then! :)

Back from Wuxi

Good morning!

Normally I would consider going to Wuxi: a place for a calm couple of days, since there isn't that much to do in the city compared to Shanghai. However, this past few days have been quite full of action so to say. We've been going to a new pub; having French food (yes, Cédric just discovered it existed a French restaurant in Wuxi!); trying Wuxi's nightlife; playing pool; visiting temples; and then going to the wedding dinner of one of Cédric's colleagues..

Yesterday was our one day of long rest though. Actually we didn't leave bed till around 5 PM except for when we had to use the bathroom and feed our starving bellies around 3-ish. It was pretty nice I must say. Some days just need to be "stay-in-bed-all-day" days. :)

Now I'm going to grab something to eat and then I'll head to school. Both scared and curious to find out my exam scores but I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope that I managed well. Will update again later! Ciao!

8.30 AM

In about 1 hour I will have my last exam for this time and I can't wait to be done! Since it's an essay exam, I can't really study for it so I'll just cross my fingers and hope that it will run smoothly. All the exams this year has been far more diffiult and longer than last year (except for the Listening) and I think I've messed up some of them a bit but I'm pretty sure I'll still pass.

Besides that I don't really know if I'm going to Zhoushan this afternoon since it's apparently going to be pretty cold and rainy there this weekend (same in Shanghai unfortunately), meaning that we can't go visit the main attraction: the beach. I told Cédric to decide where we should spend the holidays since he's the one who wanted to take me there from the day we met, so he will give me a confirmation later today.

Now I'm going to eat some breakfast (Wasa Knäckebröd, hehehe :p) and then get ready for school. Later people! :)

Since I lack new pics you'll get one of me with my fave Berlin Bear from last week

Let the exams begin

Hello there!

At this moment I should probably be studying since we have midterm exams this week (starting from tomorrow) but a student got to have some breaks no? ;)

Anyways, after Alex left on Thursday night (sob sob) I spent the weekend with my hubby who came to Shanghai so we could do some clubbing and have a nice Teppanyaki dinner with some friends (and our weekly Sunday brunch which is one of my favorite parts :D). I really needed that since this week will be a long week for me since I have class, or exams that is, till Saturday. However after that, we will be free till Wednesday due to Chinese Holidays so: YEAY! The plan at the moment is to go to this island Zhoushan where Cédric's friend/collegue comes from; it's about two hrs from Shanghai by bus and it has a beach and good seafood apparently - some things I find difficult to say no to, hehe.

I will try to update more this week whenever I have time, but as studying will be the main focus this week, I might not have much interesting news to come with :p

I wish I could be in Sweden to celebrate Valborg this year. Miss my crazy chicas :'(

6 in 1

As a blogger, I should have taken more pictures of Monday and night's ladies night with Alex back in town but luckily (?) there was a bunch of other people taking shots all the time, so I guess I will steal some from them later, hehe.

Last night was more of a ladies night than Monday. Nevertheless, I don't think I've ever been to this many places in one night. First it was free champagne at Financial, then we went to Velvet Lounge (as we met some girl at Financials saying that they serve extremely good Lychee Martinis, and she was so right!), and after that we went to the Apartment, which unfortunately was closed, so me and Alex went down to Shelter (which is an underground club next door) just to check it off the list before we took a cab to M2 and later ended up at M1NT. So six clubs in one night. I could barely keep my eyes open in class this morning.

I just had a long nap and now I'm going to do some studying before I meet up with Alex and Alice for tacos at Mi Tierra. :)

Is Shanghai going bankrupt?

Last night was fun and it was great to have Miss Lambert back in the city, however, I must say that it also was pretty...unique. Because we did not only catch the attention of so many weird guys (they were all "such creeps" Alex normally says :p), but also we realized that we have to move from Shanghai.

Ok maybe not move but the city is starting to get a bit cheap. Zapata's Margarita Monday changed name to the general "Ladies Night" and is now placed on Wednesday - just like ALL the other ladies nights. I really don't get why they did that because 1) the whole going out for Margarita Monday concept is now gone, and 2), why go to Zapata' s on a Wednesday when there are so many other ladies nights in town? I just think they will make such a loss by changing name and day...

So since we couldn't go there we decided to go to Financial Center instead where they serve free champagne for ladies Mon-Sat 20.30-22.30 PM. Or they USED TO serve it these days. Now it's only on Wednesdays as well. I don't know what has gotten into these places, but it makes all the girls in SH pretty depressed I think. Or at least that is what we became. So instead we ended up going to Windows on Huaihai Lu and then to M2 for a while before I was back home at 2 AM.

Guess who's back!?

Hello!

As my brain activity is turned on maximum for everything that's happening the upcoming week, I can't really sleep so I figured I might as well update a bit. I will probably regret this tomorrow morning when vacation is over and school starts for real again (with mid-term exams in 1½ week!) but I'll take the punch.

Alex (my dear study-buddy from last semester; who's now studying in New Zealand) just called me some hours earlier saying that she finally has arrived in Shanghai so tomorrow I'll meet with her and some other people for dinner at Malone's (which I haven't been to in ages!) and then a night out. Exciting stuff :D

First I did laundry; then I started writing one of my essays; then it was running over to Vanessa and Jess to exchange some pics from Guilin; then it was a long (2.5h) dinner with Veronica, and then I could finally come home again. I am on my way to post the photos from Suzhou, just have some patience...Until then, some snaps of today's look :)

What a girl wants

Ok, I won't have time to post the Suzhou pictures today so I'll do it when I get back from Guilin. However, I do have something else to post. Nothing less but a list (apparently there is one and I found it!) of what we girls want in a relationship, haha.

Does your man man measure up? - I know I need that hoodie from my hubby! ;)

Great news :D

Except for our 4 days trip to Guilin starting tomorrow, we just found out that we will have Easter Holidays (because Fudan is an international school) on Thursday and Friday next week. This basically means that except for today, I'll get 2 weeks of holidays all together! Sweet. I mean, although Cédric didn't put any faith in me actually studying these extra days, I'm going to prove him wrong. Midterm exams are in the end of this month, and my goal is to nail them. End of story.

Oh and I got pictures from Suzhou! I'll post some of them tomorrow ;) Nights!

Home sweet home

After going to Wuxi on Sunday night, spending Mon-Tue in Suzhou and then going back to Wuxi for a quiet Wednesday/study session in the park, I really thought that I'd be back in Shanghai by night so that I could get some good rest before Thursday morning's 8 o'clock class. Nevertheless, the tickets were all sold out! (Beacuse of the Chinese Holiday rush.) And since there were no buses or anything going (only illegal mini vans that I didn't dare, and Cédric let me take alone), the only solution seemed to be staying an extra night in Wuxi and take the next available train to Shanghai in the morning. This was at 8.38 AM, which would mean that I still would miss my first class but only make me run a bit late for the next one.

However, although I got up on time I first had some problems finding a taxi and when I finally got one, it just had to be two small traffic jams (coming out from nowhere!), making me miss my train by 2 min. Faaaak was the word for that situation. So after standing in line for like 30 min, I finally got a ticket for 11 AM. Now I'm finally back in my dorm (in my bed a matter of fact) trying the chocolate my cutie-pie bought for me from France. After finishing this post it's time for a BIG NAP. I'm beyond exhausted and I don't like train stations anymore.

I've got such a wonderful boyfriend :)

Long week

Because there is Chinese Qingming Festival next week, giving us holidays on Mon-Wed, we are forced to go to school this weekend. (Yeah the Chinese system are not as nice as the Swedish one -.-'). However, as I today went to class I found out that the teachers can't take the attendence since the system doesn't work so I'll see if I go tomorrow. Me and Veronica are planning a big night of partying tonight, hehe. :p

Today was a pretty ok day to go to school on though (although it's Saturday) because the classes were interesting and the sun was shining the whole day. In Sweden it's apparently snowing, so I must say that I'm very happy to be in 20°C Shanghai, haha. Ok better get ready and meet Miss Tseng. Later people! :)

Today's outfit - spring is here! :D

This is how Chinese I've become ^^

Photo string is up!

After 45 min of fighting with the stupid Chinese tape (no wonder they sell them in rolls of 10 when you have to use like one roll for putting up some pictures -.-'), my photo string is now up! Thank you Lewar & Cédric for making me remember all these nice moments and for making my room more cozy. Love you two and everyone up on my wall :) ♥

I just hope it won't fall down on me (again) while I'm sleeping later

Only in China

Today after school I went to one of those small "cutie-cutie" or "fluff-stores" as I also refer them to to buy a new notebook. However as everything suddenly looked so adorable I couldn't hold back my girly-girly side and ended up buying all of this...

For 9 RMB. Yes. 9 RMB!!! Only in China can I find so many cute (and uneccessary, BUT STILL CUTE!) stuff, and to the price of nothing! :D

Sticky notes!

And then it opens like a book - how CUTE isn't thaaaat!? :)

And then...who doesn't need patches with teddy bears on them? Soo sweet! Now I no longer fear getting hurt somewhere ;)

Maria's birthday celebration

Going to bed early my ass. After getting home like 45 min ago, taking a shower and doing some revision for tomorrow's dictation, I realized that my plan of going to bed early just isn't going to happen tonight...

Nevertheless I must say that I had an awesome night with some wonderful girls. First we met with Claudia, Vanessa, and another girl (forgot her name, something with J, and she is really nice!) for dinner with Maria's dad at a Korean restaurant in Wujiaochang. After that Maria's dad thought that we should go and get some ice-cream at Häagen-Dazs so off we went before we ended the night at Vanessa's flat eating the cake that she and Claudia had bought as a surprise for Maria. I haven't hanged out with Claudia and Vanessa like this in ages so it was a really nice gathering and we had heaps of fun! Anyways, bed time for me. It's already past 12 AM - again. -.-'

Korean BBQ: always a good choice :D

Pancake and birthday dinners

Yesterday I met up with Veronica and two of her friends at Mr. Pancake House on Julu Road for dinner. Since I've only been to the extremely small; original one on Wuding Road I first thought she was the one who was lost until I called her and she told me that there actually are two branches! So when I finally got there, it was around 19.45. However, as we went there because we don't really care about having breakfast in the evening, we ordered big sets of pancakes and all of us left a bit too full but happy, haha.

When I got home I had tons of homework to do so my happiness sort of decreased a bit. However, as I'm now finished with most of them, I am ready to head out again later tonight. I do not mean a Ladies' Night outing, it's just a dinner/small birthday celebration for Maria (my flatmate for those who don't know) who turns 20 today. I think it will be great - if I manage to stay awake. I have no idea how I can be so tired still, but ever since Monday I have problems keeping my eyes open. Tonight I will go to bed early!...And maybe take a nap now, hihi. :p

Weekend moments

Good evening readers!

Normally I'm too tired to post on Sundays since I often arrive home late (I have a hard time letting go of my cutie-pie boyfriend) and then spend the night Skypeing with my mum and sis. However, as I today had to work at 16.00 (yes my student from Friday likes me as his teacher and wanted me to do another class with him today!), I had to leave Cédric directly after our late brunch at the Southern Belle. Something that is rather weird for us who can spend a whole afternoon in cozy places like this that serve late brunch - and especially today when the sun was shining and we could sit on the terrace! :)

Anyways, I had to go to work so I did. Sadly we can't have it all. And besides, I already had a too lovely time (if that is possible to say) with him as we on Saturday celebrated our 6 months anniversary starting with an extremely late brunch in the French Concession before having some drinks with some of Cédric's friends at Glo London and then having dinner at Cuivre - the French restaurant where we had our first date...so many good memories :)

I also got this small present from him (inspired by you Lewar! :))...Ah, I love that guy :)
